Double Canyon, a luxury winery located in the Horse Heaven Hills region in Washington, announces expanded distribution of the Double Canyon Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon to 15 states with the launch of the 2013 vintage.

"With the ever-increasing popularity of Washington wines, and a new focus on the high quality Horse Heaven Hills appellation in particular, Double Canyon is poised for growth," said Crimson Wine Group President and CEO Patrick DeLong

"This wine is a unique expression of this special place," said Winemaker Jason Ledbetter.  "Horse Heaven Hills is an emerging area for producing Washington Cabernet.  Wines from this appellation are lauded for their exceptional balance and acidity, and this wine represents what I feel are the best qualities of the region."

Double Canyon Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet is blended from several prestigious vineyards throughout Horse Heaven Hills.  The majority of the fruit comes from the winery's estate Double Canyon Vineyard, and the remaining elements of the blend are sourced from high quality neighboring vineyards.  By blending fruit from some of the region's best vineyards, along with the winery's estate vineyard, Double Canyon captures the classic fresh fruit characteristics and juicy acidity that make this appellation so unique.

This classic Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet is accented by 17 percent Syrah and a small percentage of Malbec and Petit Verdot to lend structure and complexity to the blend.  The 2013 Double Canyon Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon retails for $25 per bottle.

Named for the two ravines that run through it, Double Canyon Vineyard was established in 2007 with the goal of creating high quality, reference point wines to express the unique character of this special winegrowing region.  Located in the heart of Horse Heaven Hills and situated adjacent to the renowned Champoux Vineyard, Double Canyon produces wines with great individual character highlighted by nuances unique to the site.
